On Monday we went to Cadence and Keaton's house for lunch, and offered to bring the sandwich fillngs......
Me: So, what should we get for the sandwiches?
Addison: ummmm, cheese!
Me: like, grilled cheese?
Addison: Yeah...not boy cheese. boy cheese is for boys, and girl cheese is for girls!!

Privacy!
Yesterday, we went to a wedding. It was really fun, except that Addison had to pee every ten minutes. The following is what went down on the fourth trip...the only one that there were other people in the bathroom for, of course.
me: do you need help, or can you do it yourself?
Addison: I can do it myself. Can you shut the door mom?
me: yep...good luck
About a minute and a half later....
me: Are you almost done?
Addison: I'm just wiping my bum
About a minute later...
me: Addison, are you done yet?
Addison: I'm just wiping my BUM I said! (with a growly "bum") Mom, you have to be PATIENT! (growly patient for emphasis).
So, the other two ladies in stalls start laughing and re enact the whole scene between the two of them. A few coolers will make any situation super entertaining!LOL
Moral of the story...be patient. Addison will be out when she is DOOOONNNEEE!!!

A conversation with a policeman
I got stopped at a checkstop tonight, and the policeman on duty was one I knew. He made a comment about our van, and the rest went like this:
him: you've sure had this van awhile, hey? Are you getting a new vehicle soon?
me: yeah, we'd like to.
him: a new minivan?
me: probably a car, for the mileage.
A little more chit chat about kids, and I was on my way. As soon as we pulled away, que Addison
Addison: mom!!(angrily)
me: what?
Addison: you forgot to tell him that we are buying a 'vertible'! (with a growl for the last word...just to show how angry she was).
me: a what?
Addison: a 'VERTIBLE'!
me:, oh, a convertible?
Addison: yeah!
me: I'm sorry, I didn't know that was the plan.
Addison: it is, I want to buy one!
Soooo, will the next vehicle be a 'vertible?' maybe someday!

God, please help the cow

We have a sick cow, so today while we were feeding her, I asked the girls if they wanted to pray for her. So I prayed:) After, I asked Addison if she wanted to pray. "No, just you mommy"
A couple minutes later, as I was giving the cow water, I heard this:
"Jesus, please help the....awww, Jesus left already mommy!"
"He did?"
"Yeah, he went to the Lord...we have to pray quickly before he gets back up to heaven!"
It made me wonder...does she make this stuff up, or does Jesus speak to our childrens' hearts? I think Jesus was there...helping me to see a little more of him through my little girl, and helping the cow:)

Diet Coke
Addison went on a trip last week with my mom and sisters...To Saskatchewan. Woohoo!
She was in the hotel room, sneaking sips of my mom's diet coke every few minutes. After a few times, my mom said, "what are you doing?"(in a playful way:))
Addison said,
"Grandma, I don't know much about diets, but I sure like your diet coke!"

Something's wrong...
This one happened just minutes ago...talk about being on the ball!LOL
I'm watching tv with the girls, and apparently it isn't the show Addison wants, because all of the sudden she let out a sympathetic "awww, something's the matter mommy"
"What's wrong Addison?"
"Dora's not on!"
Think she watches enough Dora??LOL

Best Friends
I was helping Addison go to the bathroom today...fun, I know:)
As I was helping her pull up her pants, she leaned over and gave me a hug and said, "awww, best friends ever!"

So Grown Up
Addison spent the last 5 days at Grandma's house, so I didn't hear this one first hand, but I believe it.
Karen asked the girls if they wanted to go check on a calf in the barn with her. They were both excited, but Karen had to get Tegan's jacket on first...but she must have been taking too long, because Addison marched towards the door, looked back and motioned at them, with a gentle, "come on ladies!"

Hard at Work
"mommy, I hungry"
"mommy, can I go to Gamma Karen's?"
"mommy, can I watch my movie?"
"mommy, can I go outside?"
This is just a tiny tidbit of what I listened to....before 9am! Finally, exasperated, I said, "Why do you talk ALL the time little girl?"
With her shoulders shrugged, she said, "I have to mommy, it's my job"

Liar Liar
Well, it's happened. Yesterday Addison told her first straight out lie. It was sad to see my little girl lying, but what she made up and the forethought that went into it made it worth remembering....I think!
Tegan and Addison were in my room watching Dora, when Addison came out and said, "mommy, Tegan pooed on your bed...it came out her tights!"
I said, "are you sure? you don't have any tights or a diaper on...just a dress. Are you sure it wasn't you?"
"No mom, it was Tegan...it came out her tights, come see!
So, I walked into the bedroom, where Tegan was just getting curious about the poo on the bed (bleechh!)fully clothed in a diaper, tights, and a onesie, and a dress. I changed her, and there was no evidence of her being the culprit.
So I asked Addison again...and told her if she was honest she wouldn't get in trouble.
She admitted it...

Yo' Mama
This morning, Addison got to talk to Gramma Karen on the phone....she's really excited to go visit her next week:)
After her phone call, Daniel came back into the living room and was talking to her.
Daniel- "Ooooh, did you get to talk on the phone?"
Addison- "Yeah, I'm going swimming with Gramma Karen!" Then, leaning in close to his face with her eyes wide to make sure he understood, she added, "that's YOUR mom."
We couldn't keep a straight face:)
